Ellington Financial (NYSE:EFC) November 30 book value per share of $18.74 is down from $18.96 a month earlier. The company, however, did go ex-dividend for $0.41 in November. Adding this back in, book value rose $0.19 for the month.
Quarter-over-quarter comparisons are probably best, and Nov. 30 book value of $18.74 is down a dime from three months earlier.
Yesterday's close of $14.92 is a whopping 20% discount to Nov. 30 book - maybe not so deserved if performance continues to stabilize.
