- Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (NYSE:RDY) and the U.S. Department of Justice have reached a settlement in a civil case that started about six years ago over alleged violations of the Consumer Product Safety Act involving child-resistant packaging, specifically six products with child-resistant blister packs.
- The company has agreed to pay a $5M to settle the matter although it says it firmly disagrees with the government's allegations. There have been no reports of a child gaining access to the medications as a result of the packaging and no instances of harm to a child related to the packaging.
- The six products have not been distributed in the packaging in question since 2012.
