The Trump administration stands on the verge of its first major legislative victory after the House voted 227-203 in favor of tax reform. Twelve Republicans - mostly from high tax states (think NY, NJ, CA) - voted against the measure as their constituents could see an increase thanks to the loss of deductions for local taxes.
The bill now moves to the Senate where it's expected to score a party-line victory (vote could come today). From there it would head to the president's desk for signing.
