German auto workers in push for higher wages

Some workers at Audi (OTCPK:VLKAY) and BMW (OTCPK:BMWYY) went on strike today as part of an union demand for higher wages and shorter working hours.

The union is asking for 6% more pay for 3.9M metals and engineering workers, while the automakers are offering a 2% raise and one-time €200 payment.

Automotive News reports that about 160K workers have already taken part in the strike action.
