- Arkansas state lawmakers vote to ban sprayings of the controversial dicamba weedkiller after mid-April to protect farmers from potential crop damage.
- The state will prohibit the use of herbicides based on the chemical through the end of October in the strictest limits imposed on the product that was linked to millions of acres of U.S. crop damage last year.
- Manufacturers Monsanto (NYSE:MON) and BASF (OTCQX:BASFY) maintain that their dicamba-based herbicides are safe when used properly.
