The Washington Post says Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is eyeing Northern Virginia for its new campus.

Apple has said it plans to spend $30B over five years on new facilities and hiring 20K employees. The company says most of that growth will come at a new location outside its current hubs in California and Texas.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam proposed several sites to Apple after the company said it sought 4M square feet of office space.

Amazon is also eyeing Northern Virginia as a finalist in its HQ2 search, which would require about twice as much space as Apple.
