- Boeing (BA -1.6%) and Caterpillar (CAT -2.1%), among the companies potentially harmed the most by a U.S.-China tit-for-tat tariff fight, are today's two biggest decliners on the Dow Jones 30 index.
- Boeing says it is assessing the possible impacts of tariffs on its supply chain and commercial business.
- Separately, Boeing's head of commercial sales Ihssane Mounir says engine problems at Rolls-Royce have “rattled” the aviation industry but have not slowed sales of the 787 Dreamliner.
- “I haven’t seen any slowdown in sales right now," Mounir tells Reuters. "These are growing and teething pains for any product.”
- Also, the Pentagon yesterday awarded Boeing a $1.5B contract for upgrades of F/A-18A/B, C/D, E/F and EA-18G aircraft for the Navy and foreign military sales customers.
