Electronic Arts' (NASDAQ:EA) $400M 2009 acquisition of social games developer Playfish is starting to look like a dud, as traffic for the Playfish unit's once-popular The Sims Social continues to dive. Industry observers think EA made some critical errors with the game, such as having "relationships" with other players decay without active game usage, and failing to effectively differentiate the game from Zynga's (NASDAQ:ZNGA) FarmVille.
