Sky considers phone service in Italy

  • Sky (CMCSA -0.2%) is reportedly planning to launch telephone services in Italy.
  • The company would launch service at the end of the summer after making a final decision in the next few weeks, La Repubblica reports.
  • And Sky is considering Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Royal KPN (KKPNY +0.2%), as a candidate to run the operation, according to the report. Other candidates include Fastweb chief Alberto Calcagno, and Pietro Scott Jovane, ex-chief commercial officer of Telecom Italia (TI -2.3%).
