Southwest removes two Boeing planes from service due to cracks

Southwest (LUV +0.7%) says it found cracked pickle forks on two Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737 NG planes after responding to an urgent request from U.S. regulators for inspections. The two planes are being taken out of service.

The FAA requested that carriers inspect a total of 165 Boeing 737 NG airliners within seven days after a structural crack was found on a small number of planes.
