- Valero (NYSE:VLO) and Total's (NYSE:TOT) Port Arthur refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast, which shut ahead of Hurricane Laura last week, may begin limited restart of some units over the weekend, Bloomberg reports.
- Both refineries rely on Entergy (NYSE:ETR) for electricity and are waiting for full power restoration to start all units.
- At midday today, 301K bbl/day of oil production, or 16.3% of the region's total, was still shut in from the storm, as well as 420K Mcf/day of gas output, or 15.5% of the area's total, according to the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.
- Exxon's Beaumont refinery, which also shut ahead of the storm, reportedly is restarting some units, including the large crude unit and the FCC.
