- Morningstar estimates U.S. mutual fund and ETF flows for March 2021; long-term mutual funds and ETFs collected a record $156B, exceeds the $144B record set in February.
- U.S. equities took in a record $54B, significantly ahead of February 2021's $38B, the second-highest total since 1993.
- Large-value strategies had $20B of inflows, the largest sum for that category group on record while small-value equity funds also had record inflows of $5.4B.
- International equity funds took in $31B, highest since January 2018 and diversified emerging-markets funds collected a record $14B.
- Fixed-income funds took in over $48B; it has collected $786B over the trailing 12 months, the most of any category group.
- Vanguard collected ~$42B in March assets while iShares garnered $22B; ARK ETF collected $880M in March compared to $8B intake in February.
