  • The UK's Competition and Markets Authority has launched its inquiry into the potential acquisition of Xilinx (NASDAQ:XLNX) by Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD).
  • The CMA will accept comments on the merger until May 21.
  • A decision is due by July 6 and CMA will then either approve the deal or recommend the launch of a phase 2 investigation.
  • Related: In April, Xilinx and AMD shareholders voted to approve the $35B deal, which is expected to close before the end of the year.
