- Labcorp (NYSE:LH +1.8%) is on the rise today after the company announced that the FDA granted the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for its Pixel by Labcorp COVID-19 PCR Test Home Collection Kit for those aged 2-17 years.
- Pixel by Labcorp is now allowed for use in the age category when the tests are purchased by a parent or guardian, the company said.
- “Expanding access of our Pixel by Labcorp COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit to include younger populations fills an important need as people seek to resume life activities safely,” noted Dr. Brian Caveney, chief medical officer of Labcorp Diagnostics.
- “This is welcome news as children and parents look forward to summer activities, camps, travel and the upcoming school year,” Caveney added.
- In December, with the EUA allowing its use in those over the age of 18, Pixel by LabCorp became the first FDA-authorized at-home collection kit available over the counter for COVID-19 without the need of a prescription.
