Facebook won't take revenue cut from creators until 2023, in jab at Apple
- Facebook (FB +1.7%) has taken a swing at Apple (AAPL -0.6%) during the latter's Worldwide Developer Conference, saying that the company won't take revenue share from creators on its platform until 2023.
- "To help more creators make a living on our platforms, we're going to keep paid online events, fan subscriptions, badges, and our upcoming independent news products free for creators until 2023," CEO Mark Zuckerberg says in a post on his platform.
- "When we do introduce a rev share, it will be less than the 30% that Apple & others take," he says.
- The company will start a payout interface made to show creators how different companies' fees and taxes affect earnings, he goes on to say.

in other words, FB is announcing a huge, unprecedented increase in fees to take effect in 18 months

It's going to take more than "jabs" to stop Apple from rendering FaceBook irrelevant, but I understand the panger (panic and anger) from the thieving jack-wagon and hair-club candidate man-child Mark Suckerburg. Musk hit the nail on the head years ago: FaceBook is lame.

Apple will succumb when FB, MSFT, Google, and AMZN take a piece of that humble apple pie called ecosystem.

@Investing For The Future how ? It's money they don't currently get. It's a good pr move to make it free at first while it will also drive faster adoption. And once they start to collect fees it will create another revenue source

I think Mark Zuckerberg & Jack Dempsey are 2 of the greediest people on earth. Will not use either of their services or buy their stock.

I found that my Facebook account offered little. So, I deleted it. Sincerest apologies to the dumbest people from my High School that wanted me to assist them in exposing a sophisticated ring of pedos. Facebook's stock however, offers much. So, I continue to buy it. Long $FB

Doesn't matter to me, I'm steering well clear of FB. Invasion of privacy is built into their business model. That's what you get with a "free" ad-based platform. When I see ads, I run.

@nerd_rage it's a great mechanism for free services tho. You may not have the need for a free service as you may be able to comfortably afford a premium service . But people in developed nation's who ha every little disposable Income don't even ConSider it and will happily take ads for a service. Honestly even a lot of lower income people in rich countries Will easily take the deal
