- The European Medicines Agency said it expects to receive data from Pfizer (PFE +0.8%) and BioNTech (BNTX +5.3%) on its COVID-19 vaccine in children aged 5-11 in early October, followed by similar data from Moderna (MRNA +3.6%) in early November.
- Once the data is received, the agency expects it will take about four weeks to review.
- President Biden's chief medical adviser, Anthony Fauci, has said that Pfizer/BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 will likely be available before Halloween in the U.S.
- During a news conference, the EMA also confirmed an earlier report that it will likely make a decision on whether to authorize a booster dose of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in early October.
