PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) said on Tuesday it plans to spend $11M to double the production capacity of its powder coatings plant in San Juan del Rio, Mexico, to meet anticipated future demand for powder coatings in the country.
PPG (PPG) said the project will involve the installation of new production lines, upgrades to existing equipment and increased application capabilities, and the increase in production will enable the local manufacturing of new, innovative powder coatings products currently supplied from the U.S.
PPG (PPG) expects the expansion project to be completed by mid-2023.
The San Juan expansion is the latest in a series of actions PPG (PPG) said underlines its commitment to investing in further growth for powder coatings; earlier this year, PPG acquired Arsonsisi's powder coatings manufacturing business in Italy.
