- Mortgage rates continued to fall, reaching their lowest level since September 2022, according to the Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Survey.
- 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.15% for the week ending Jan. 19, down from last week when it averaged 6.33% and higher than 3.56% a year ago.
- 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.28%, down from last week when it averaged 5.52% and higher from 2.79% a year ago.

- "As inflation continues to moderate, mortgage rates declined again this week," Chief Economist Sam Khater said.
- Mortgage applications rose with falling rates, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.
- "Declining rates are providing a much-needed boost to the housing market, but the supply of homes remains a persistent concern," Khater said.
