Republic Services (NYSE:RSG) and Waste Connections (NYSE:WCN) on Wednesday were rated Buy in expanded research coverage of the garbage-collection and landfill industry by analysts at Citibank.
They said earnings growth for the companies from 2023 to 2025 may be twice that for 2017 to 2019 on lower costs. Waste companies also are driving growth with an expansion into hazardous waste and renewable natural gas collected from landfills.
Citi has a price target of $177 a share for Republic Services (RSG) and $155 a share for Waste Connections (WCN). The bank reiterated its Buy rating on Waste Management (NYSE:WM) and price target of $204 a share.
