The FAA proposes fixes to midair collision warning devices manufactured by a unit of L-3 Communications (LLL -0.1%) that have been installed on nearly 9,000 U.S airliners and business aircraft. During a flight test over a busy airport's airspace, the warning systems failed to properly keep track of all nearby planes.
