The latest proposed settlement between the biggest mortgage servicers, the Justice Department and 50 state AGs, once thought to total ~$20B, could run as high as $60B, NY Post reports. The settlement includes restitution as well as penalty contributions from banks to state and national funds to settle claims of robo-signing and other fraudulent mortgage practices.
