Chinese planners are not likely to reinstate auto purchase incentives and actually look set to extend a restriction on new car registrations beyond Beijing. It's unwelcome news to the world's automakers, who are counting on a return to speedy growth in Chinese auto sales - up just 5% Y/Y thru July vs. 33% in 2010.
