    Need to build barrier islands or rift outside of NY and NJDCY. Good on calling off Marathon. Ppl are too pissed to watch it anyway.

    be much less sympathy for them than if they were Alabama or Georgia. Congress splurging on NY probably isn't going to happen.

    I am not as familiar with NYC & NY state finances, but I know CA & Illinois would have trouble coming up with new construction money.

    Some say post Sandy rebuilding will boost the economy. But weren't NYC & NY state both in serious financial trouble? Who will pay for it?

    Just heard that the floor of the NY Stock Exchange is under two feet of water. I don't think the exchange is going to open anytime soon.
