Anne N. Mathias is a Managing Director for Global/Macro & Investment Research in the office of the Global CIO at Guggenheim Partners Investment Management. Prior to this role, she was the Director of Research for Guggenheim Securities' Washington Research Group, which provides political, economic and industry research for investors and is ranked #2 in the Institutional Investor "All America Research Team" Poll for 2012. She focuses on the intersection of politics and the markets and has an in-depth understanding of tax policy and the macro-economic climate. She speaks regularly on political and financial issues to investors and the media, appearing frequently on Bloomberg TV, CNBC, CNN and others. Prior to joining the Washington Research Group, Ms. Mathias was a General Partner in healthcare and biotech private equity funds investing in the United States and internationally. Earlier, she spent five years as a senior consultant with Deloitte & Touche in an international management consulting group that specialized in restructuring and privatization in the emerging markets, particularly Eastern Europe. She has a B.A. (cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Spanish from the University of Maryland, and a Master’s in International Affairs from Georgetown University. She is a CFA Charterholder and member of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts and the CFA Institute. She is a founder of Women in Bio, a professional organization dedicated to entrepreneurs in the life sciences. She speaks Spanish and French and holds both U.S. and EU (Finland) citizenship.
