Currently CEO of Agila Industries and Bamcolife. Started as a humble fudge cook at Hansel & Gretel in Helen, Georgia. Entered the US Navy at the ripe old age of 17. Was qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor (In charge of the entire engine room on the nuclear propulsion plant) of the USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) as a Petty Officer 2nd Class at 23 years old. I'm pretty sure that's still a record. I was the Electrician Staff Training Group Petty Officer, teaching the instructors how to train the students, at the S8G (Seawolf) prototype until I left the Navy in 1998. In my Navy career I spent something north of 600 days submerged. That probably explains a lot.
During that time, I started an investment trading club, the profits of which I used to found my first business - Motorhead Products. It still exists today but I have left it some time ago. We originally bought 100,000 key chains out of China and had them in our garage, gluing NASCAR numbers to the top and selling them out of the back of my van to convenience stores. We made the Inc. 5000 fastest growing companies (As R&D Enterprises) in 2009. It was during those 17 years I learned much about how to sell to large retailers, how to negotiate licensing contracts, and how to live a bit on the edge of life.
Following difficult experiences in China sourcing, I decided to to open my factory in Cebu Philippines in 2011. I sold this company to a larger business that was selling as a tier 1 supplier to Lowe's Home Depot, Sams, and eventually Costco in 2015. I served as the COO of this company until my contract completed in late 2017. I now, once again, have my own manufacturing company in Cebu with a slightly different focus. Instead of trying to get filthy rich, I'll settle for improving people's lives and helping them to stand on their own feet.
I'm now in my elder statesman days and I have broad experience running startups, large multinationals, and trading those pesky little things called securities. I run my family’s money, which is nice - as I don't have to explain my trades to anyone. As a Seeking Alpha contributor, I can provide a more varied background than from a typical stock analyst. Yes, I get my half a penny per page view but the truth is, I'd write for free.
I feel I have morally redeemed my soul and strive on a constant basis to help others do the same. Be the change in the world. I promise you it will feel better.
