Founding China First Capital is the fulfillment of a deeply-held ambition nurtured for 30 years. "I first came to China in 1981, as one of the earlier American graduate students in China. I left China after school. But, throughout, I never lost sight of the goal to return to China and start a business that would contribute meaningfully to the country’s revival and prosperity."
Retired former broadcaster, spent 35 years in mid-market television stations in sales, sales management and as a general manager of CBS, ABC, FOX, UPN, and CW affiliated stations.
I am a 30-year 'retail' investor in quality dividend paying stocks with emphasis on energy, food products, consumer staples, health care and technology. I learned enough about 'Mr. Market' to be able to retire in my 50's and live the good life with an income stream provided in part by a portfolio of dividend paying stocks.
For the last dozen or so years, I have found great joy in mentoring and encouraging young people to take the leap and get started with investing...pointing out that they have time on their side and that small, regular investments over time can really add up.
I am a real estate attorney from St. Louis.
I run the "The Conservative Investor Digest." That is where you can find my best work, and that is where I focus my research. You can become a subscriber here: https://gumroad.com/l/HmqJx
I also own the long-term investing website "The Conservative Income Investor" which can be found at: www.theconservativeincomeinvestor.com
It’s time for a change!
Worn out after months and months of portfolio-busting volatility… depressed by the still paltry yields offered by U.S. Treasuries and money market funds… the majority of investors are clamoring for above-average income investments right now.
The only problem?
Most investors are going about income investing the wrong way! They’re simply chasing yield, which is a surefire way to undermine their investment returns.
Anyone can find a list of high dividend-paying stocks. But very few people can actually sort through all the choices to identify the most fundamentally fit, reliable dividend payers. And Wall Street’s been none too helpful when it comes to that task.
But that’s precisely why we founded Dividends & Income Daily… To provide a free resource for everyday investors to find safe, yet attractive, income strategies and investments in this zero-percent yield environment.
Not just any income investments, mind you. Ones capable of producing large, reliable and steadily increasing streams of cash. Both now and into the future.
For decades, many of the world’s richest investors have been using income investments as the cornerstones of their portfolios. For good reason, too. Countless studies show that dividends account for a whopping 90% of total returns.
It’s finally time for everyday investors do the same.

I am a market enthusiast and part-time trader. I started writing for Seeking Alpha in 2011, and it has been a tremendous opportunity and learning experience. I have been interested in the markets since elementary school, and hope to pursue a career in the investment management industry. I have been active in the markets for several years, and am primarily focused on long/short equities.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lehigh University, where I double majored in Finance and Accounting, with a minor in History. My major track focused on Investments and Financial Analysis. While at Lehigh, I was the Head Portfolio Manager of the Investment Management Group, a student group that manages three portfolios, one long/short and two long only. I have had two internships, one a summer internship at a large bank, and another helping to manage the Lehigh University Endowment for nearly a year.

A regular guy (still alive from New York!) who shows how he would manage a model (not actual) portfolio for educational purposes only, my personal finances are my own business and the disclosure statement is only for the portfolio we are discussing. I give absolutely no advice, and only offer suggestions on how I could manage a portfolio.
The main reason for a subscriber to "Follow" me, especially for the model portfolios (TARP or otherwise), is to glean some knowledge to become a better investor and not simply place bets. Money management is every bit as important as any other aspect of investing, and by following a portfolio and the actions taken, you can gain some insight into a somewhat higher level of investing acumen. There are no requirements, and this is not "rocket science" - it is simply a powerful way for you to put the money you have worked hard for to work even harder for you. My message will be consistent, and my hope by doing this is to share my own experiences, illustrated in the model mock portfolios I build exclusively for Seeking Alpha. Knowledge is power, and many folks shy away from the investing world because that very world makes it more confusing each and every day in an effort to sell you something: stock picks, technical strategies, books, videos, subscriptions with "secret ideas," gadgets, and even snake oil. My promise to you is that my work here will remain free to all of my followers, with the hope of giving to you some of the things that took years for me to learn myself.
