My goal is to design and manage a diversified portfolio that provides a growing, relatively safe dividend stream to supplement retirement income. The portfolio includes 30 individual equities and 7 ETFs. The average number of consecutive years of dividend increases is 26. Eight of the companies have S&P credit ratings of AA or higher. Fifteen are rated A+ or higher. Twenty-one are rated A- or higher. One company (WP Carey) is rated BBB. The other 29 are rated BBB+ or higher. I try to buy quality and maintain a long term perspective.
The 30 individual equities are: Johnson & Johnson (JNJ); Microsoft (MSFT); Exxon Mobil (XOM); Apple (AAPL); Walmart (WMT); Automatic Data Processing (ADP); Pfizer (PFE); Merck (MRK); Procter & Gamble (PG); 3M (MMM); Cisco (CSCO); Royal Bank of Canada (RY); NW Natural (NWN); PepsiCo (PEP); Texas Instruments (TXN); Kimberly-Clark (KMB); Qualcomm (QCOM); Simon Property Group (SPG); Clorox (CLX); PPL Corporation (PPL); WEC Energy (WEC); AT&T (T); National Retail Properties (NNN); Realty Income (O); Tanger Factory Outlets (SKT); Enterprise Products Partners (EPD); Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP); Ventas (VTR); BCE Inc (BCE); WP Carey (WPC).
The 7 ETFs are: Vanguard Total Stock Market Index ETF (VTI); Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets Index ETF (VEA); Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets Index ETF (VWO); Vanguard High Dividend Yield Index ETF (VYM); Vanguard International High Dividend Yield Index ETF (VYMI); Vanguard Mid-Cap Value Index ETF (VOE); Vanguard Small-Cap Value Index ETF (VBR).

I am a retired clinical psychologist, and administrator and owner of a rehabilitation clinic we founded 40 years ago. For over 55 years I have managed several portfolios composed of investments accumulated over our professional careers. Since the financial crisis of 2008, I have employed specialized, customized dividend growth strategies aimed at enhancing and growing a dividend income stream.
Since December 24, 2014, I have demonstrated on Seeking Alpha the ongoing construction and portfolio management of the Fill-The-Gap Portfolio aimed at highlighting strategies investors may utilize to close the gap between an average Social Security benefit and the much greater costs faced in retirement.
This portfolio has outperformed all of the broad market indexes by a very wide margin, growing dividend income and total portfolio value consistently while the broader indexes struggle in negative territory all year.
Let me show you how to build and grow your portfolio and dividend income, step by step, towards a comfortable and secure retirement.
Hello friends! I am a former wealth manager with over 25 years of experience working for a major investment banking firm. I retired in 2013. My eyes have witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly of the financial world. These days, I spend my days watching the markets, managing my retirement portfolios, and focus on increasing the income of my accounts. I am on Seeking Alpha with the purpose of using my former career experience plus my day-to-day portfolio management to educate others. Specifically, INCOME investing for and while in retirement. For me, it is all about collecting INCOME now. I try to ignore the "what ifs" and the "waiting until it goes to..." because retirees want and many times need INCOME now. Stocks go up and down and all around, but the income you collect is yours. It is yours to keep, to spend, to pay bills , to save, to gift, etc. It is about the INCOME and I use my double income strategy to collect as much income as I can.
My hope on here is to inform others and possibly make a few friends during my time on here. Ive read some wonderful articles on here and hope I can meet and exceed the high standard of content that other contributors have provided on Seeking Alpha. I do not give investment advice anymore. I will share my thoughts and my opinions in a "straight talk way" about stocks I own or want to own or want to sell and the covered call options.
Aside from the financial world, spending time my best friend and longtime spouse and my young chocolate lab, are the best things in my life.
I am working as a Business Analyst and Data Engineer in Germany and have started to build up a portfolio focused on Dividend Growth, both on the high and low-end yield spectrum. Primary focus is on Blue Chips with long-reaching dividend track records. I have been investing for 2 years and have been standing on the sidelines for way too long before.
I love developing spreadsheets in Google and Excel to analyze financial performance and integrate these two sources with each other!
I am a dividend investor and look for undervalued investments in the stock market. I identify misunderstood and undervalued equity investments and hold those securities until their price approximates my estimate of intrinsic value. I am a long-term investor only.
I am building a $100,000 high-yield income portfolio. I am running this portfolio as an experiment to see if long-term sustainable income can be generated from a diversified pool of high-risk, high-yield securities. I am willing to accept high risk in order to meet my performance goals.
I am an early career scientific researcher who has taken a strong interest in investing. While I invest primarily to achieve my personal financial goals, I find that doing so gives me another outlet beyond science where critical and logical thinking yield significant rewards.
