A regular guy (still alive from New York!) who shows how he would manage a model (not actual) portfolio for educational purposes only, my personal finances are my own business and the disclosure statement is only for the portfolio we are discussing (if an asset is held personally, I will note that in the disclosure). I give absolutely no advice, and only offer suggestions on how I could manage a portfolio. My personal portfolio and finances can change at any time, which has nothing to do with the educational value of any article.
The main reason for a subscriber to "Follow" me, especially for the model portfolios (TARP or otherwise), is to glean some knowledge to become a better investor and not simply place bets. Money management is every bit as important as any other aspect of investing, and by following a portfolio and the actions taken, you can gain some insight into a somewhat higher level of investing acumen. There are no requirements, and this is not "rocket science" - it is simply a powerful way for you to put the money you have worked hard for to work even harder for you. My message will be consistent, and my hope by doing this is to share my own experiences, illustrated in the model mock portfolios I build exclusively for Seeking Alpha. Knowledge is power, and many folks shy away from the investing world because that very world makes it more confusing each and every day in an effort to sell you something: stock picks, technical strategies, books, videos, subscriptions with "secret ideas," gadgets, and even snake oil. My promise to you is that my work here will remain free to all of my followers, with the hope of giving to you some of the things that took years for me to learn myself.
Aside from free articles available to the general public, additional early-access, value-added ideas and deep-dive articles are offered to paid subscribers on my premium SA platform, "Retirement: One Dividend At A Time" . This exclusive RODAT Portfolio has performed even better than my popular FTG Portfolio, with higher dividend income growth and greater capital appreciation.

I am a retired clinical psychologist, and administrator and owner of a rehabilitation clinic we founded 40 years ago. For over 55 years I have managed several portfolios composed of investments accumulated over our professional careers. Since the financial crisis of 2008, I have employed specialized, customized dividend growth strategies aimed at enhancing and growing a dividend income stream.
Since December 24, 2014, I have demonstrated on Seeking Alpha the ongoing construction and portfolio management of the Fill-The-Gap Portfolio aimed at highlighting strategies investors may utilize to close the gap between an average Social Security benefit and the much greater costs faced in retirement.
This portfolio has outperformed all of the broad market indexes by a very wide margin, growing dividend income and total portfolio value consistently while the broader indexes struggle in negative territory all year.
Let me show you how to build and grow your portfolio and dividend income, step by step, towards a comfortable and secure retirement.
To those who had been following my articles, I apologize for my abrupt exit from posting on SA. In mid-2015, I decided that sharing my investing views with everyone on Earth with computer access just wasn't worthwhile, since that inherently includes some problematic individuals. Since then, I only occasionally publicly comment on stocks via Twitter. The rest of what follows was my SA profile so that I won't have to rewrite it in the unlikely event I resume posting articles publicly. Best of luck with your investments. I manage long-term portfolios and special projects beyond the capital markets. I'm fortunate to have worked for a NYSE-traded financial firm for the decade through 2010, but I am not a financial adviser, my articles only share my investing actions/opinions, and they are not investment advice. Only the numbers matter in this business, so here are portfolio returns from the most recent five years: 2011 +37%, 2012 +32%, 2013 +52%, 2014 +11%, 2015 +14%, 2016 +35% (those are only capital gains, but all except 2 out of ~25 holdings pay dividends). Annual returns are moderating as expected, since most positions were rebuilt 2010-2012 at extreme undervaluation levels, but just 2-4 new positions are opened each subsequent year at modest undervaluation. We're not getting younger, so we're less willing to take on additional risk. I do still trade around core positions for short-term profits, but I don't include trade gains in the returns mentioned in articles, and my articles are strictly about the long-term investing primary aspect of my strategy. My investing career first started in the 1980s, and the lifelong transition to full-time was finalized in 2009. I only mention returns from 2011 here because that's when I became active on SA, so the calls that led to the results can be verified here. For ~2008-2010, my focus was shorter-term trades, which made total annual returns harder to tally, so without wasting time backtracking I can only say that annual returns were worthwhile. For most years prior, I was a blue-chip-only, buy-and-hold guy, since I was more beholden to employers and less able to dedicate ample time to active investing.

We are generally sector and market-cap agnostic, identifying opportunities using a 'stock picking' bottom-up, fundamentals-based, valuation-driven approach. However, we find most opportunities in the small-cap space, in technology & healthcare sectors, with some also found often in the consumer, energy & basic materials sectors.

Peter Way Associates provides daily updated, near-term price range forecasts for over 2,000 widely-held and actively-traded stocks, ETFs and market Indexes.__
These are derived from the way market professionals protect their own capital placed at risk while helping big-money portfolio managers adjust their holdings in multi-million-dollar "block" transactions.__
Having these price-change prospects available on a continuous basis encourages individual investors to actively and economically build up the values of their own smaller portfolios. PWA only provides information for individual investors; it no longer manages investments for others.__
Rates of portfolio capital growth being achieved by subscribers are at MULTIPLES of the growth in market averages, due to the efficient use of holding period time and the compounding of gains a number of times each year.__
Risks of capital loss are protected against by insightful selection guidance and holding-period-limit disciplines. The advantages of good selection and careful timing amply cover a much smaller portion of unavoidable losses.__
These Market-maker forecasts have several decades of demonstrated productivity. Earlier in the 20th century they were used by large institutional portfolios, and now in the 21st century they are available only to individual investor wealth-building portfolios. Thousands of day-by-day identifications of specific securities having consistent, odds-on profitable results rule out any likelihood of their exceptional outcomes being due to chance. These price forecasts cannot be found elsewhere.__

I am a simple individual investor who believes that the playing field is level, but may require active management of one's holdings. I've devised a series of steps that constitute a highly defined covered option strategy that most anyone can follow and that I've described in Option to Profit (2011). Having retired from a career in Pediatric Dentistry, approximately 10 years ahead of schedule, after spending the previous 10 years working just 2 days each week, I now spend my time trading.
For almost 5 years I alerted others of trading opportunities in large cap positions through the Option to Profit subscription service, a premium subscription service that provided actionable Trading Alerts via text messaging or e-mail at my old site www.optiontoprofit.com.
As of January 2, 2017, the site and the name "option to Profit" are no longer mine. as I've again joined the dark side and taken the easy money. But I've returned to my blogging roots on January 2, 2017 by resurrecting the old TheAcsMan.com ad supported web site, open to all.
That, too, ended and the new, subscriber based LEAPtoProfit.com will launch on July 1, 2018 and will be geared to the less active trader who is either shifting into a "buy and hold" strategy, as am I in this next to final stage of my investing career or seeks to milk an existing "buy and hold" portfolio.
Ultimately, I hope to make my stock portfolio improve the quality of my life.
Whatever stage of life you are in, you can make your stocks improve that quality by putting them to work for you and perhaps LEAPtoProfit can be part of that process.
