Cigna Join Hands With SCAN Health Plan To Offer Health Benefits To Retirees

Cigna and SCAN Health Plan have entered into an alliance to do something new.

The objective of Cigna is "to encourage healthy individuals; to encourage healthier families; to encourage healthier communities; and to give lowered health care to everyone." The time since the company entered this market, it values its clients and customers. The company wants its customers to have the most benefits of their health from health insurance plans and packages. Previously the company has worked to control the interest of their customers and assist them as well. Being best known as a main insurer, the company has joined hands with SCAN Health Plan.

The president of the West region for Cigna, Chris De Rosa said, "Our companies have a common commitment to clinical quality, customer service and engaging with health care professionals to enhance health care delivery. Through this alliance, we can now offer employer groups in California a full suite of benefit capabilities for active employees and retirees. Employers and customers will benefit from the many quality programs, outstanding member service and expertise serving California seniors that the SCAN brand embodies."

It is believed that Cigna (CI) and SCAN Health Plan have announced to be partners in order to provide the group retiree of SCAN with Medicare Advantage Health Plan benefits to their employer clients based in California. The company has entered into an alliance with SCAN Health Plan which also "blends Cigna's broad portfolio of integrated benefit products, consultative approach and single point of contact for employers with SCAN's Medicare Advantage products, services and highly regarded brand in California," as Yahoo Finance reports.

It is believed that as both companies will be working together, they will come up with new options and "streamlined" benefit administration for SCAN group retiree employer clients. These new options will assist them to provide enhance care coordination with best care providers. Moreover, the alliance will also assure a smooth transition for employees to SCAN from Cigna upon retirement and Medicare eligibility.

The CEO of SCAN, Chris Wing is also content with this partnership. He said, "We're pleased to partner with Cigna to offer SCAN benefits and expertise to more Medicare beneficiaries in California. Cigna's dedication to helping people improves their health, well-being and sense of security aligns with our mission to keep seniors healthy and independent. We look forward to meeting the needs of new employer groups and their retirees through this exclusive alliance."

It is believed that the announced plan by the companies, Medicare Advantage product, will be available from January 1, 2016 through SCAN's existing Employer Group Waiver Plan.
