Thursday, June 13, 9:04 AM A new report on fast-food chains concludes there isn't a differentiator between options as consumers bounce between restaurants. McDonald's (MCD) due to its scale and convenience factor has an advantage over Arby's, Burger King (BKW), Jack in the Box (JACK), Taco Bell (YUM), Wendy's (WEN) and Dairy Queen - but it still lacking the brand loyalty infused by fast-casual chains such as Starbucks and Panera Bread. 1 Comment [Consumer]
Wednesday, June 12, 9:35 AM Jefferies thinks yesterday's same-store sales figures for Yum Brands (YUM +0.6%) in China are already priced into the market as the company's situation in the region slowly improves. Though it's only a small step toward rolling out the After Midnight program nationally, the chain's results will be closely watched. Thursday, May 30, 9:50 AM Good news for Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD +0.5%): Pizza Hut (YUM -0.2%) closed its first stand-alone WingStreet after the store didn't perform well in testing. The company will still operate WingStreet within existing Pizza Hut stores and maintains the stand-alone concept could be resurrected down the road, but the development takes some pricing pressure off of Buffalo Wild Wings for now.
