Republican senators consider $30K SALT cap in tax bill – report
Republicans in the U.S. Senate are considering a $30K limit on state and local tax deductions in their version of President Donald Trump's "One Big, Beautiful Bill," which is $10K lower than the cap in the House version, according to a media report. In a closed meeting, the Republican senators are discussing details of the bill, which the Senate hopes to pass later this month. The SALT cap, currently at $10K, was a sticking point for Republicans from high-tax states, including New York, California, and New Jersey, Bloomberg reported.
