Summary

  • RWE is a powerful example of a European utility in transition. Its global renewables business is growing all around the world.
  • RWE had an excellent 2021, with outperformance on many metrics, in the top 15% of Standard & Poor’s 2021 corporate sustainability assessment in the Utility industry.
  • The Russian invasion of Ukraine has two outcomes: An acute response to exit Russian fossil fuels and a second long-term plan to exit dependence on Russia through the renewable transition.
  • RWE’s share price has struggled over the past month despite lots of reasons to consider investing in the world’s No. 2 offshore wind project developer.
