Grigorii Borisenko

International executive with 10+ years’ experience in the biotechnology and health care Industry combined with a prior award-winning 15 years’ biomedical research experience and interdisciplinary medical education. I have served as the Investment Director at the major VC&PE fund in Russia specializing in Life science, and on the Board of Directors for several US- and Russia-based start-up biotech companies, including Atea Pharmaceuticals (Boston), Xenetic Biosciences (Framingham), Adastra Pharmaceuticals (San Diego), Novamedica and Nearmedic Pharm (Moscow). I am passionate about improving patients’ lives by designing new medicines. My broad expertise combines education, research and development experience to bolster product development and translate ideas towards commercially viable products. I provide and rely on a systematic analysis that helps to estimate the risks, clinical values and commercial prospects of innovative projects and to facilitate decisions. Prior to his investment career, I held academic appointments at the University of Pittsburgh (PA, US), Russian State Medical University and Institute of Physico-Chemical Medicine (Moscow, Russia). I co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in the leading biochemistry and cell biology journals, received my M.S. and Ph.D. from the Russian State Medical University, accomplished post-doctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh, and received several International Awards from National Institute of Health (US).
