Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE) recorded record open interest of more than 94M contracts on April 24 across its global futures and options markes, it said on Monday. That's up 26% from a year ago.
“The record depths of liquidity truly highlight the benefit our clients are finding in the contracts we provide, that allow for both flexibility and precision hedging across our benchmark derivatives products,” said Trabue Bland, senior vice president, Futures Exchanges at ICE.
Open interest across the exchange's global oil markets is up 30% Y/Y, with average daily volume up 26% year-to-date.
Its global natural gas futures and options markets, meantime, saw open interest rise 34% Y/Y to a record 41.3M.
Across ICE’s global environmental complex, open interest is up 43% since the start of the year.
