@Sandy Lighthouse thanks for the encouraging words - much appreciated. Your caution on AU's Africa exposure is well founded. It is a key risk, and while they are steadily reducing it, the perception remains a headwind to the share price (particularly for North America based investors). As for how they secured the Beatty district assets in Nevada, I think the short answer is timing and strategic focus. AU saw potential in the Beatty district, when other players were more focused on larger, more developed brownfield plays. They began building a position around 2020 by acquiring Corvus Gold and nearby assets - consolidating a meaningful land package. I think that Newmont and Barrick were perhaps more focused on optimising existing Tier 1 assets through their Nevada Gold Mines JV. That has been a capital intensive process, and the Beatty assets may have seemed too small or early-stage at the time for them, to warrant serious attention. AU on the other hand needed to diversify geographically, and saw Beatty as a springboard into a Tier 1 jurisdiction with long-life and low-cost potential. Now that those assets are moving toward production, it looks like a smart long-term bet. Thanks again for reading and for the great question.

@Chancer thanks for your engagement. I think it's definitely possible for more acquisitions to follow. Their sound balance sheet puts them in a solid position to pursue quality assets if the right deal comes along. That said, I think they'd likely remain disciplined - focusing on value accretive deals rather than chasing ounces near the top of the cycle.
